New reports predict that staff in the travel indutsry could find themselves richer this year ,due to industry-wide pay increases.
The 2005 Salary Forecast, conducted by recruitment firm AA Appointments, estimates that workers in the travel industry could receive a pay rise of between £1,000 and £3,000 this year.
Personnel Today reports that this forecast comes from a review of figures from 1,500 travel companies and that the market is now "candidate-driven".
"Employers know they have not increased pay for their staff recently, but they should, or employees will vote with their feet," said John Tolmie from AA Appointments.
This would be the first notable pay rise experienced by travel workers since the September 11th terrorist attacks.
