Southampton forward Augustin Delgado has been released from St Mary's after an injury-hit three-year spell at the club.
Delgado cost the Saints GBP3.25m from Necaxa.
He spent the last few months of last season at Ecuadorian outfit Aucas and will now ply his trade out there.
He had a year left on his contract at St Mary's but Saints chairman Rupert Lowe decided to end the Ecuador international's contract ahead of pre-season training.
"Tino was very popular at Southampton and in a way he became a bit of a cult figure.
"We're all sad to see him go and wish him well. He's a quality player but unfortunately we couldn't get him fit enough for the Premiership."
The 29-year-old appeared in the starting line up for Saints just five times, making a further ten appearances as a substitute.
He scored only two goals for the South Coast team. |
