Site Manager (Construction/Civil Engineering) Job

Combi-Nations are recruiting a Construction Site Manager for a permanent or contract position in Tanzania. The successful candidate will join a reputable Leading construction company operating throughout the African continent. They have won a major roadwork project in Tanzania and are looking to hire a Senior professional to direct, coordinate, and budget the projects. If you are a Leader, with a wide experience in this industry, you have a solid background and a proven track records in similar projects, then this role is perfect for you! About the position: As a Construction Site Manager, you will supervise a construction site composed of expatriates as well as local professionals and engineers. In addition to making sure all safety procedures are followed, you will also be responsible for making sure the process stays on budget and on schedule. Main responsibilities: - Project Management: Supervise the contractor under the Engineering and Construction Contract terms and undertake contract administration, e.g. issue PM instructions to the Contractor and facilitate fair and reasonable resolution of compensation events and variations. - Communication: Work in partnership with the Contractor; develop a spirit of mutual trust and co-operation. - Personnel Management: Personnel matters, staff training and development. Make recommendations where extra resource or alternative work processes are required to maintain or increase performance. - Monitoring / Quality: Ensure through on-site supervision that the construction works are undertaken to required designs, specifications, standards and HSQE requirements. Monitor site progress including installation. - Budget Control and Planning: Monitor project cost and provide Project Manager with timely identification of deviations from budget. - Materiel Management: Ensure maintenance of daily records of all site activities, including information on material, and any non-compliant materials - Problem Solving: Identify problematic design issues and make recommendations that support engineering procedure as well as ensure the construction schedule is maintained. Required Qualifications: - To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: - Degree in Engineering - Minimum 10 years experience in roads, highway and infrastructure projects. - Ability to work with different disciplines and cultures - English language skills are essential - Experience working in Africa would be a definite bonus - Proven track record in previous similar projects. - Excellent Communication, Negotiation, Planning and Managerial skills If you are ready to bring your expertise towards a challenging position abroad, and your experience reveals your abilities and capabilities to present yourself as a suitable candidate please send your updated CV for an immediate consideration!
