Based in London we are a brand specializing in jerseys, draping, pleating and intuitive design. We have a vacancy for an experienced flat jersey pattern cutter. We want individuals with experience, commitment, a love of cutting flat paper patterns and a high standard of work to join our existing team. Experience and knowledge in jersey draping and production manufacturing is essential to succeeding in this rewarding role. This role is unsuitable for new graduates. cemelondon MAIN DUTIES . Interpreting a sketch or picture to produce an accurate interpretation of a style in jersey or woven using techniques specific to draping . Cutting flat paper patterns - we do not use gerber currently so this skill is not required . Attending fits and making relevant changes as requested by the team to ensure accurate fits and styling suited to our brand through honest feedback from the fit model . Making all adjustments to patterns to ensure all styles remain within Ce Me ethos and styling. . Preparing patterns for grading . Completing spec sheets with accuracy . Problem solving - working with the managerial team to ensure deadlines are met . Taking responsibility for all work and meeting all deadlines (staying late if required to complete a pattern) . Communicating with the design team to ensure accuracy and detailed interpretations of what is required . Learning - we have a structured system in place and require the suitable candidate to adapt to our system SKILLS AND EXPEREINCE . 3 + years experience working with jersey and wovens in a commercial role within a similar company or organization - This cannot include internships . Experience working within a manufacturing environment . Experience of completing detailed spec sheets . Pattern Cutting must be a primary strength and passion - creative ability to manipulate and understand what a pattern is communicating . Knowledge of forthcoming trends, designers, shapes and commercial demand . Openness to receive honest constructive feedback at all times . Ability to work within a close team and attend fit sessions- diplomacy . A willingness to learn and be open to new ideas - we have a structure in place which we ask all pattern cutters to follow . Able to use own initiative and take responsibility for your own work . An ability to work under pressure . Excellent written and spoken English . References required APPLICATION METHOD Salary £23,000+ p.a. (dependant on pattern cutting skills assessed at the interview) we are open to receiving applications from more experienced pattern cutters and salary can be discussed and reviewed dependent on the practical interview. Monday - Friday - 9am-6pm Please note we are not offering a training position and candidates need to have strong pattern cutting skills and experience.
