About BrightHouse

BrightHouse is a national retail chain specialising in the sale of home electronic and domestic appliances, household furniture and related products, primarily on a ‘rent to own’ affordable weekly payment basis.

BrightHouse serves over 130,000 customers a year. We provide our customers with choice and access to products, operating without the normal requirement of large deposits and credit ratings that can make everyday domestic products inaccessible to a significant section of UK society.

BrightHouse products are paid for outright in cash or by spreading the cost over weekly payments. Our Optional Service Cover provides customers with full protection against breakdown and enables customers to return products at any time without penalty.

With 1,900 staff nationwide, BrightHouse is a major employer in the local communities where our 178 stores are located. A further 25 stores are set to open during the next 12 months.

BrightHouse is led by a dynamic leadership team under Leo McKee, Chief Executive.

BrightHouse product offering

BrightHouse currently stocks major brands which include a comprehensive range of: Samsung, Sony, Technics, Philips, Acer, Nintendo, Baird, Whirlpool, Polo Divani, Hyder, Beko and Nokia products.

BrightHouse origins

The first BrightHouse store opened in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham in April 1994. BrightHouse is a private company that was bought by Vision Capital, an independent investment firm, which owns a diverse portfolio of European businesses, in July 2007. It was initially taken private in September 1998 in a deal arranged and financed by the Principal Finance Group of Nomura (now reconstructed as Terra Firma Capital Partners).
